Herron to Report More Than $675,000 in Congressional Campaign

Breaking all 8th Congressional District fundraising records, Senator Roy Herron will report more than $675,000 for his campaign, all raised in less than a month. Herron is running for the seat currently held by Congressman John Tanner, who is retiring and not seeking re-election.

The next four days

Our campaign for Congress is only beginning, but the next four days are critical. Even though we just started this month, we face our first fundraising deadline at midnight this Thursday, December 31st. Our fundraising report will be the first opportunity to show the pundits and political leaders that we have the strength and grassroots support to win.

Happy Holy Days!

Nancy, Rick, John, Ben, and I send our warmest wishes for a Merry Christ's Mass, a happy Holy Day season, and a hopeful and blessed New Year for you and yours.

Herron Announces Run for Congress in Tennessee's 8th District

My family's lived in Tennessee since 1819. This has always been my home, and it always will be. During 23 years I have represented people from 11 West and Middle Tennessee counties in the General Assembly. I've worked hard for my neighbors and fellow Tennesseans. In 23 years, I've missed only one legislative session - the day our youngest son was being born. I have held more than a 1,000 listening meetings with those I represent. I believe I understand their needs and can represent their values.

A Story of Thanksgiving

Two weeks ago, on Veterans Day, I shared with you a story about my father. Dad was severely wounded in World War II and barely survived. After ten months in hospitals in England and Virginia, he finally returned to Tennessee.

Honoring Our Veterans

On this Veterans Day, I'd like to break from the regular campaign e-mails and share with you a brief story.
